Marco Nones was born in Rheinfelden, Switzerland, in 1966. In 1984 he graduated from the Institute of Art in Pozza di Fassa. He lives and works in Val di Fiemme, in the Dolomites.
The Marco Nones’ art has its roots in the biographical and spiritual closeness with the Fiemme’s forests but tells something more than the poetry of the meeting with that majestic setting. Something more that the romantic narrative. Universal sensations. It is a life that flows. It’s a kind of research. And it is undoubtedly fear.
The exclusivity and uniqueness of his artworks allowed him to be present in numerous exhibitions. The most important: in Assisi at the Museum of the Portiuncula in 2009. In 2010 he’s got an installation at Arte Sella. In November 2011, he was invited by Trentino Marketing to exhibit a solo show in the Italian Cultural Prague headquarter (70 works including drawings, photographs and land art installations). In 2015 he’s been invited by the Chateau de Ratilly in Burgundy (France) and received the Expo Award 2015, Triulza Foundation, with the art installation “Svuotato/ Emptied” at Milan Bosco in Città.
From October 30 2015 at 31 January 2016 he was present at the exhibition “Nature, Art and Ecology”, curated by Margherita de Pilati, at the MART Galleria Civica in Trento with the installation art “Radicati Liberi / Free Rooted”, a cone made with pine roots.

Two Italian fashion companies has been attracted by the Marco Nones’ style: Marina Rinaldi – Max Mara and Golden Point. The first selected his artistic performance “Gesto Rosso / Red Act” for its own business promotion (2011); the latter asked him to create an ice art installation, in the middle of summer (2012), for its summer fashion advertising.
Other exhibitions and residences led Marco Nones in Catania, Genoa, Rome, Milan, Venice, Trento, Ferrara, Reggio Calabria, but also in Czech, France, Austria, Germany and Vatican City.
